Severe Coronary Artery Disease and Calcium Score Zero Video

In this video, we demonstrate the limitations of coronary calcium scoring as a diagnostic tool for two groups of patients: those at high risk of coronary artery disease (CAD) and those complaining of symptoms such as chest pain. While coronary calcium scoring has gained popularity as a non-invasive method to assess heart disease risk, it may not always provide accurate results for specific patient populations. In these cases, by providing a false reassurance, a calcium score of zero, can lead to leniency towards treating risk factors by doctors and medication non-adherence by patients.
