About Dr Reza Moazzeni
Dr Moazzeni is a consultant cardiologist (MBBS, FRACP) based at Westmead with a subspecialty focus in preventive cardiology and advanced cardiac imaging. He trained at St Vincent's Hospital Sydney, including a dedicated year in the Heart Failure and Heart Transplant Unit and a fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging.
He holds visiting appointments at Westmead Private Hospital and Sydney Adventist Hospital, and provides continuity of care with the same cardiologist managing your patient at every visit.

Cardiology Consultation
Comprehensive assessment for chest pain, heart failure, valvular disease, arrhythmias, hypertension, familial lipid disorders (including FH and elevated Lp(a)), and cardiovascular risk stratification.
Privately billed with Medicare rebate. Referral required.
Echocardiogram
Transthoracic echocardiography performed and interpreted by Dr Moazzeni in the same visit. Indications include suspected heart failure, valvular disease, cardiomyopathy, murmur assessment and pre-operative evaluation.
Bulk billed for eligible patients. GP or specialist referral required.
Stress Echocardiogram
Exercise or pharmacological stress echocardiography for assessment of inducible ischaemia, exertional symptoms, or evaluation of known coronary artery disease. Performed and interpreted on-site.
Privately billed with Medicare rebate. Referral required.
How to Refer
Submit the online referral form — complete the form and upload your referral letter. We'll contact the patient directly to arrange their appointment.
Fax your referral — send to 02 8401 9599. Include patient details, clinical indication and relevant investigation results.
Email — send referrals to info@heartcare.sydney. We confirm receipt and contact the patient within one business day.
Include with your referral: clinical indication, urgency, relevant investigation results (ECG, blood work, prior imaging), and the patient's contact details.
Urgent Referrals
For patients requiring urgent or semi-urgent review, call the clinic directly on 02 8401 9598 to arrange a priority appointment. Same-week availability is reserved for acute and time-sensitive cases.
If the clinical situation requires immediate discussion, Dr Moazzeni is available to speak with referring doctors by phone during clinic hours (Monday–Friday, 9 am – 5 pm).
Reports and Communication
Structured consultation reports and investigation results are sent to the referring doctor within 48 hours, by the method specified on your referral (fax, email, or secure messaging). Reports include a clear summary of findings, diagnosis, management plan and any recommended follow-up.
For echocardiograms, a detailed report with measurements and interpretation is provided. All imaging is performed and reported by Dr Moazzeni — there is no separation between the sonographer and reporting cardiologist.
