Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. A valid referral from your GP or another specialist is required for all consultations at Heartcare Sydney. This ensures you receive a Medicare rebate for your visit. Referrals are typically valid for 12 months and can be sent to us by fax (02 8401 9599) or email (info@heartcare.sydney) ahead of your appointment.
Consultations are privately billed, and you will receive a Medicare rebate. However, most cardiac investigations (such as echocardiogram and Stress echocardiograms) performed at the clinic can be bulk billed for eligible patients, meaning no out-of-pocket cost for the test itself. Please contact our rooms on 02 8401 9598 for specific fee information.
Please bring your GP referral letter, Medicare card, any private health insurance details, a list of your current medications, and any previous test results (blood tests, ECGs, imaging reports). If you have had cardiac investigations performed elsewhere, bringing copies or having them sent ahead of time helps Dr Moazzeni make the most of your consultation.
Consultation length varies depending on the complexity of your condition. An initial consultation is typically 30 minutes, allowing time for a thorough history, examination, and discussion of your management plan. Follow-up appointments are usually 15 minutes. If additional testing such as an echocardiogram is required on the day, please allow extra time.
Yes. We perform both resting echocardiography and stress echocardiography on-site using Sydney's first GE Vivid Pioneer system — the latest AI-enhanced cardiac imaging platform. This means you can often have your consultation and cardiac imaging done in a single visit, without needing to attend a separate imaging centre.
Dr Moazzeni provides comprehensive care for a wide range of cardiac conditions including heart failure, atrial fibrillation, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, resistant hypertension, and inherited lipid disorders such as Familial Hypercholesterolaemia and elevated Lipoprotein(a). He also specialises in preventive cardiology, managing cardiometabolic risk factors like diabetes and obesity.
